We are living in our house!!
We are actually sleeping in our lovely new home!! We just love the feel of the house, it is so nice to actually be in it , especially after haveing lived in the trailer! We still have to finish sanding the rest and such, but we are making progress. We will also put trim work up, we have decided to use rough sawn cedar for all the trim. So there are just a few more pictures in the beginning of the Building 2 photo album.

Another photo album
I have separted the building pictures into another photo album, so as to not have so many in one. We now have 4 coats of the polyuerthane on the floors, and are hoping tomorrow to set up our bedroom and actually move in and sleep in our new home!!! It will be so nice to be out of the trailer, even though we still have plenty to do on the house.

We have stained some of the floors.
Well, if there is anyone out there still following along, we are moving forward. We have sanded, and sprayed benite oil on the master bath and bedroom, main/guest bath, hallway and guest bedroom. We have also sanded the floors, and stained them, and our now in the process of putting the polyurethane on them. We love the way they are turning out. We are hoping by the end of the week to be able to set up our bedroom!!! We will then move things around downstairs and finish the rest of the downstairs. And get started on the kitchen cabinets. The upstairs is also being sanded, so slowly but surely we are making progress. I have put just a few more pictures of the floors in the photos.

Not much to update
Well, it's been a couple of months since we gave an update, but unfortunately, there isn't much to update. We went back to Illinois at Christmas time, sold our house there and packed it all up, or what would fit into one 28' PENSKE truck and the rest we put in storage at my (Beth's) parents house, to go back in the spring to get the rest. Then we drove out. What took us almost a week to pack and load in Illinois with the help of several guys from Jeff’s work took them less than 2 hours to unload!! So everything went just anywhere and everywhere in the house. We have somewhat sorted some things, still a long way to go, but we actually aren't ready to even put anything into the house so we really do have a mess here. We are hopefully about ready to seal the master bedroom, master bath, guest/main bath, guest bedroom, laundry room and hallway. Then we have to sand, stain and seal the floors in those rooms. Once we do that we will put things into those rooms, and move onto working on the rest of the house. I have posted a couple of pictures of the front porch. We still have the trailer in front of the house, so once we are finally in the house sleeping, we will move it out, and I can take a picture of the whole front of the house. If anyone would like practice sanding, just come on out!!

Winter in the Olympics
We haven't got much accomplished in the last month. We seemed to have slowed down once we got signed off, I think we where in a much needed rest. Well winter has arrived and as most know the state of Washington is seeing it's share of flooding and disaster. We have been fortunate, we are in an area called "The Rain Shadow", it's where the olympic mountains actually act as an umbrella over the area protecting us. We are just on the edge of it. We did recieve very strong winds, they reported 99 mph not far form us, and we were without power for several hours, but nothing like others along the west coast. The corner of the roof along the northwest saltbox started to come up, but Jeff has been able to secure it back down. The snow was beautiful, and looked like something off a Christmas card. It doesn't stay around long, we had 6 inches where we are and it was all gone within 24 hours. With the micro climates here they didn't get any snow or winds where I work, over in Sequim. I have put a folder of pictures called "Winter in the Olympics" for anyone interested in looking at them. We are going back to Illinois for Christmas and packing up the house and moving it out, and we will just have to work around everything now. We will post more pictures once there is some progress!! The sanding takes awhile, and we do have about half the downstairs done. Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas season.
